Crisis Communications Consultant
Please note this is a home working role, but the client has specified that you should ideally be within 90 minutes of Birmingham.
A unique opportunity to focus on crisis management within a consultancy enjoying continued success.
The Crisis Communications Consultant role
This Crisis Communications Consultant role is not a conventional PR role, and will not suit many PR practitioners, but it is a truly exciting opportunity to work within a growing consultancy with global clients focussing on the planning, training, and execution of crisis management. The majority of our client's business is preparing its clients to successfully manage a crisis through crisis management planning, training, exercising and sometimes advice. You will support the experienced consultant team to develop (and sometimes deliver) crisis management plans, training, workshops and exercises. The work you do will ensure clients are ready to successfully respond to a crisis, whether a product recall, terrorism or cyber-attack. You will develop strong and trusting relationships with colleagues and the consultancy's impressive client list, often working with senior management. There is also international travel involved in the role. The role will be based remotely with regular meet-ups and weekly video calls for all staff, and you will be provided with all the tools to carry out your role from home. We first worked with this client 12 months ago, successfully adding a consultant to their team, and they are now looking to increase their staff to reflect the fantastic new business they have won.
What we're looking for
Due to the complex nature of this role and the home-working element, the successful candidate will have no less than five years' experience within a consultancy environment. Corporate communications would be an ideal background, and crisis communications experience would be a distinct advantage, but you may also have delivered crisis, media or other training. For the Crisis Communications Consultant role, you will need to be a confident communicator with strong presentation skills, trusted always to deliver to high standards and on time. An interest in business and current affairs would be particularly useful, and you should be a strong and accurate writer. You must be a team player who earns the trust and respect of colleagues and clients alike.
What's on offer?
This is a real opportunity to be a consultant, advising clients on serious matters, building successful relationships with them, and to join a growing and hugely professional consultancy. You will be provided with a laptop, phone, and iPad, and additional broadband line if required. Please be aware the client has one role to fill, but could recruit in two ways, therefore you may see a similar advert for the same company. If you have all the required experience and are interested in this unique role, then please apply via the link below or contact AF Selection for a more detailed insight into this role.
